LANSING, Mich. — Sen. Joseph Bellino announced on Wednesday the appointment of Josh Stump to serve as his new chief of staff.
“I am excited to have Josh join our team as my new chief of staff,” said Bellino, R-Monroe. “As a native of our district with legislative experience working in the district, he understands the issues facing our communities and will be an effective voice for them as we work to improve our state and the lives of all our families and workers.”
Stump was born and raised in Bedford Township. He currently serves as a Bedford Township trustee and lives in the township with his wife, Kara, and their 2-year-old son.
“I’m honored by this opportunity and am looking forward to serving the people of Monroe, Lenawee and Hillsdale counties,” Stump said. “This region is home for me and my family, so this isn’t just a job, it’s our future. I take that seriously and am committed to working hard for the people of the 16th District.”
Stump has a degree in religious studies with a minor in philosophy from the University of Mount Union, where he was a two-sport athlete in football and track. He is a former social studies teacher and former owner of Snap Fitness in Dundee.
Prior to joining Bellino’s office, Stump was legislative director for Rep. Jim DeSana and previously served as legislative director for Rep. Dale Zorn and as a district representative for then-Sen. Dale Zorn.
