Sen.-elect Joseph Bellino ceremonially sworn in for new lawmaking role

LANSING, Mich. — After serving three terms in the Michigan House of Representatives, Rep. Joseph Bellino will continue serving the state next year in a new role. Bellino was recently elected to the state Senate seat for Michigan’s 16th District, which includes most of Monroe, Lenawee and Hillsdale counties.

Sen.-elect Bellino was ceremonially sworn in by 1st District Court Judge Jack Vitale at the Monroe County Courthouse on Monday. His Senate term officially begins on Jan. 1.

“I am thrilled and honored to continue serving the great people of Monroe County, along with our neighbors in Lenawee and Hillsdale counties,” said Bellino, R-Monroe. “Thank you all for entrusting me to continue serving you, now as your state senator. I assure you I will continue to fight tooth and nail for our community.”
